Non-Traditional Fall Colors and Decor Ideas for People Who Hate Orange

I don’t necessarily like “pumpkin orange” as a color, so decorating for fall can be difficult. I prefer more non-traditional colors that still make you think of Autumn without plastering my rooms with orange leaves and traditionally colored pumpkins.

So I set out on a quest… to come up with some non-traditional fall color palettes and corresponding decorating ideas for people who hate orange. Navy, Brown, & Gold

I was feeling really iffy about that rug when I bookmarked it. It isn’t a rug I’d normally go for. But then the other pieces started coming together, and I realized it’s kind of the perfect rug to tie it all together. I love the textures and how warm this look feels without needing to bring orange into the equation.

Purple, Teal, & Gold

I adore that NY Taxi pillow and mixing these non-traditional colors together. It’s a little wild… but something about it still feels so cozy to me. These are great accent pieces if you really need to add a burst of color into a room.

Neutrals & Baby Blue

I am absolutely obsessed with this rug. I can’t even believe how perfect it is for this mood board. I love how cool and neutral the whole thing feels, and yet it still reminds me of fall with the darker browns and that charming leaf stand decoration.
